What should I do if eSIM activation is stuck on my iOS device?

If you installed your eSIM before traveling, you may see messages like "Activating" or "Activation Failed."

This is normal: the eSIM profile is installed, but it needs a local network signal at your destination to complete activation.

Once you arrive, turn on Mobile Data and Data Roaming (we recommend turning off roaming for your primary SIM), and the eSIM will automatically connect to the local network and activate. If activation still doesn't work after arrival, try these steps

1.Check if your plan supports your destination

Make sure the country/region you're in is included in your eSIM plan.

2.Toggle your eSIM on and off

Go to Settings → Cellular → Find your eSIM → turn it off → then turn it back on.

3.Restart your device

A restart helps your phone rescan for networks and fixes most temporary issues.

4.Check if your device is carrier‑unlocked

Carrier‑locked phones cannot use eSIMs from other providers.

5.Check your network mode

Make sure your device is set to 4G/5G Auto to avoid being stuck on 2G/3G.

6.Important reminders

  • When installing eSIM in advance, keep your iOS version up to date to avoid activation issues caused by system bugs.
  • If the problem persists, contact your eSIM provider with your order details for further assistance.
