How many eSIMs can I install?
The number of eSIMs a device can use is divided into two categories:
Storage limit: The maximum number of eSIM profiles your device can save (even if not active).
Active limit: The maximum number of eSIMs that can be enabled and used at the same time.
The exact numbers vary by device model. Below are the typical ranges for popular devices:
iPhone
- Can store 5–10 eSIMs (varies by model and iOS version).
- Active limits:
iPhone 13 and later: Up to 2 eSIMs (dual eSIM or 1 physical SIM + 1 eSIM). iPhone 12 / 11 / XS / XS Max / XR: Up to 1 eSIM (requires 1 physical SIM for dual‑SIM functionality).
Samsung Galaxy
- Can store 5–7 eSIMs.
- Most models support only 1 active eSIM (paired with a physical SIM for dual‑SIM).
- S24 and later: Support dual eSIM activation.
Please refer to your device's official specifications for exact details.
Google Pixel
- Can store 5–7 eSIMs.
- Active limits:
Pixel 7 and later: Can activate 2 eSIMs if supported by your carrier. Older models: Only 1 eSIM.
Dual eSIM requires carrier support.
Huawei and other Android devices
- Can store 5–7 eSIMs.
- Most models support only 1 active eSIM and require a physical SIM for dual‑SIM standby.
Note:
Even if multiple eSIMs are stored on your device, only active eSIMs can be used for data. You must manually activate an eSIM in your SIM management settings before using it.
