How do I activate the eSIM on an iPhone or iPad in Turkey?
It has been reported that some iPhones and iPads purchased in Turkey have eSIM disabled by default. If you purchased and activated your device after June 23, 2020, your eSIM will be activated after setup and you don't need to follow these instructions. If eSIM is not enabled, please contact your carrier. The following instructions will help you activate eSIM on devices purchased before June 23, 2020. You must restore your device to complete the following steps, so please create a backup before proceeding.
- Back up your device. Then, make sure your device is updated to the latest iOS or iPadOS.
- Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset
- Tap Erase All Content and Settings
- When prompted, enter your passcode or Apple ID password. Then confirm that you want to erase the device.
- After the erase is complete, restore your iPhone or iPad from backup.
Once completed, you can now set up eSIM on your iPhone or iPad. Additionally, please note that according to local regulations in Turkey, for every 120 days of roaming data service usage of 91 days (cumulative) or more, the device's IMEI should be registered with the central device identity register in Turkey. For details, please contact CEIR. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our support channels. Source: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211023
