How can I receive SMS and calls when using a data‑only eSIM?
Our eSIM plans only provide data only and do not include voice calls or SMS. To make/receive calls and send/receive SMS normally, you'll need to use your original SIM card and set it as the default number in your device settings. Please follow the steps below:
General Requirements
Make sure your primary number (original SIM) is enabled. The data‑only eSIM will only be used for internet access, and they won't interfere with each other.
For iOS Devices
- Go to Settings → Cellular → Find your primary number (original SIM) and turn on Enable This Line;
- Return to the Cellular main page, tap Default Voice Line, and select your primary number as the default for calls and SMS;
- Go back to the Cellular main page again, find your data‑only eSIM, tap it, and set it as the Default Data Line.
This setup allows you to use "primary number for calls/SMS + data‑only eSIM for internet."
For Android Devices
- Go to Settings → Mobile Network / SIM & Network Management → Select your primary number (original SIM), turn on the Enable switch, and set it as the Default SIM for calls / SMS;
- In the data settings section, select your data‑only eSIM as the Default Mobile Data SIM;
- On some devices, you may need to disable the "Voice call" permission for the data‑only eSIM (if available) to avoid incorrect call routing.
